There are plenty of good hedge-trimmer-wielding-folk out there to keep your bushes tip-top but we are available for the pruning jobs that require secateurs, small pruning saws and a well-rounded knowledge of timing and severity of cut. More specifically roses, fruit trees, climbers, specimen shrubs and small trees.

Border Design
There’s nothing quite like a well-designed border to add colour, texture, movement and interest to a garden. We are happy to design new borders/redesign existing borders using appropriate plants for the aspect and soil type etc. We don’t waste time drawing up plans up but discuss with you the effect you would like to achieve and then quote you based on the types, quantities and sizes of plants to be used.
You could come by our office at Garden Sage Nurseries to discuss your requirements, get inspired amongst the plants and potentially leave with an armful of plants and accompanying sketch outlining the basis of a new planting scheme.
Alternatively we could come to you, put together a design, and supply, deliver and plant the plants ourselves.
Get in touch to discuss the course of action that would work best for you.
Planting
We offer various planting services from popping in plants already purchased at the nursery to advising on, sourcing, supplying, delivering, and planting plants complete with associated sundries and systems where necessary.
Coaching
Some people can have all the information they need at their fingertips but lack the confidence or practical skills to get out and start gardening. We enjoy talking about gardening but it is also our pleasure to facilitate the development of your skills and your garden by mucking in alongside you, teaching you practical techniques and guiding you along the way. Perfect for those who want to throw themselves into their garden but are not sure how or where to start.
In-House Advice
We are super-lucky to have some desk space at Garden Sage Nurseries so feel free to drop in and see us there*. There’s no shortage of inspiration to be taken from the beautiful array of plants and there’s also, rather conveniently, a fantastic café on site. Garden Sage is a great spot to discuss planting schemes or any other plant-related questions you may have. Feel free to bring along any photos pertaining to your enquiries.
*It is recommended that you book an appointment with us to avoid disappointment, although the nursery team are often available to help with general plant information.
Garden Visits
There’s no better place to discuss your garden than in your own garden! Therefore we would be really happy to come to you and provide advice and suggestions tailored specifically to your plot. We can also follow up the visit with a report summarising the topics discussed and, if necessary, advice and suggestions for moving forward.
